Want vengeance? Become a crime fiction writer.

One good thing about being a crime fiction writer is when some idiot cuts you up on the road, nearly causes an accident and then gives you the V sign; you can rest assured that in my imaginary world the transgressor will end up chained to a wall in a cellar where unspeakable natural justice awaits!!
You, therefore, won't be surprised that one scene in my last book wrote itself!

Library Closures

Lancashire County Council want to close 35 libraries. And as tough as it must be to balance the books, there has to be another way; a smarter way. Once gone, they will never re-open. The Victorians who brought public libraries to the masses would turn in their graves.

I do a lot of talks in libraries and I'm constantly impressed at the scope of activities which the dedicated staff provide for the communities they serve; providing to young mothers, senior citizens and help to those trying to enhance their job prospects by becoming computer literate to name but a few examples. As well as lending books.

For those living in Lancashire, you can "have your say" by clicking on the following link. I have, and if enough folk do, who knows what may happen.

Another great 5-star review - "one of the most satisfying crime novels I have read in recent years", said Anna Stew.

'This is a really gritty crime novel that takes you on a roller coaster of events. I think the character development is excellent and the plot brings everything together so you are not left hanging at the end. It's one of the most satisfying crime novels I have read in recent years.' Said Anna Stew in her 5-star review of 'A New Menace'.

Wow thanks Anna.

Can this 5-star review tempt you into some weekend reading?

By ML H.

'If you read the first book by Roger Price it would be criminal (pardon the pun) not to read this one!

What I love about his books is that you know you are reading a book by the real deal. With years of experience on the force you really feel you're getting a glimpse into an altogether different world which most of us (thankfully) never get to see except through books. I would love to see this one and By Their Rules made into a British TV miniseries...'

Thank you ML H. for your kind review; I just need to find a commissioning producer to agree!

If you put a book down for ten days it can be difficult to reconnect with the story, but when you put one down that you are writing, it can be even harder; or is that when the gold comes?

We'll find out. So it's 2016 and it's time to return to the attic to write; well I do have lofty ambitions for my books!
